InfoComm 2017 draws record numbers

InfoComm 2017 has finally wrapped up, with a record of over 44,000 visitors attending this year, hailing from all 50 states in the US, and from 117 countries around the world.

Jeff Fiedler, Sales Director here at Sunrise Systems, came away with some great impressions. “The international experience was a big plus,” he said. “The innovation was interesting to see. It makes us aware of the landscape that’s out there, and where the technology is headed.”

Jeff said the US Department of Commerce had an official presence, which only happens at select events. “They had a meeting room for representatives from different countries, each with a delegate looking for new products in the audio-visual industry,” he said. “They tend to go to important industry shows that they deem to be of value.”

The show’s 950 exhibitors anchored a massive expo event that spanned more than 545,000 square feet of exhibits, demonstration rooms, and special events space, making it the biggest InfoComm ever. As a representative of Sunrise Systems, Jeff made some excellent connections with counterparts in the industry, explaining to them what sets this company apart.

“We’re different because we’re a customized-solutions company, as opposed to a catalog company. Our products are American-made, which is very important. I didn’t personally run into another company (at InfoComm) that made all their products in the US,” Jeff said.

“Additionally, we have the ability to create the software that goes with the displays. The hardware is useless if you don’t have the software to integrate with different types of systems. We have the ability to create a total communications platform.”

According to, which officially covered the convention, more than 3,700 attendees took part in InfoComm training and education; nearly 190 professionals passed a Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) exam, bringing the total number of CTS holders to 11,105; and more than 650 volunteers participated in InfoComm council activities, including record attendance at the Women of InfoComm Network Breakfast.

InfoComm 2018 will be held June 2-8, 2018, at the Las Vegas Convention Center, and Sunrise Systems plans to be there!
